The study from Lin Li et al. conducted a nationwide population-based cohort study in order to identify ADHD as a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. Here, 5,389,515 Swedish adults have been studied between 2001 and 2013 and results show strong associations for cardiac arrest, hemorrhagic stroke and peripheral vascular disease. The authors concluded that ADHD is an independent risk factor for a wide range of cardiovascular diseases.
