The last paper the WFADHD highlights this year is from Mulraney et al. The authors conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis on screening tools for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder in Children and Adolescents. By evaluating 75 studies from MEDLINE, PsycINFO, EMBASE and PubMed from 1985 to 2021 they identified 41 screening tools which have been grouped into four different categories. Mulraney et al. conclude that most tools have excellent overall diagnostic accuracy but state that single measures are unlikely to have sufficient specificity for clinical use or population screening.
