Scientific Papers - November 2021

The WFADHD emphasises this month the following two papers.

Homaei et al. examined the underlying mechanisms and clinical implications of ADHD symptoms in neurometabolic diseases by conducting a systematic literature review. Therapeutic implications are discussed and a path forward to increase the understanding of these relationships is proposed.

The second article, from Viering et al., investigated emotion dysregulation and integration of emotion-related brain networks affect intraindividual change in ADHD severity throughout late adolescence by applying bivariate latent change score models. The authors concluded that neural and behavioural covariates associated with emotion regulation affect the course of ADHD severity throughout adolescence and early adulthood beyond baseline effects of ADHD severity.
