Scientific Papers - October 2021

In October, the WFADHD highlights two papers of special interest.

The population-based cohort study by Liu et al. examined whether comorbid neurodevelopmental disorders are associated with long-term glycemic control and risk of diabetic complications. It was shown that primarily ADHD and intellectual disability were associated with poor glycemic control and a higher risk of diabetic complications in childhood-onset type 1 diabetes.

Darling et al. conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to find out whether behavioural interventions are associated with benefits for children and adolescents with social deficits in pediatric disorders. The authors concluded that these population might benefit from social skills training regardless of their specific neurodevelopmental or mental health diagnoses.
